It’s been a while since I finished a book that’s made me feel as delicious as the Alchemist has. I won’t go too far into it as I think its neccessecessessecessary for everyone to read.

Here are some quotes I took note of whilst reading:

“When you really want something, its because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It’s your mission on Earth”

“The secret of the happiness is to see all of the marvels of the world, and never to forget the drops of oil on the spoon” (the simple things)

“The future was already written by Allah, and what he had written was always for the good of man so the tribesmen lived only for the present, because the present was full of surprises”

“If good things are coming they will be a pleasant surprise… if bad things are, and you know in advance, you will suffer greatly before they even occur”

“If you pay attention to the present, you can improve upon it and if you improve on the present, what comes later will also be better”

“When a person really desires something all the universe conspires to help that person realise his dream”

“A man’s heart helps him when he is trying to pursue his dreams”

“If a person is living out his destiny, he knows everything he needs to know there is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure”

“When you are loved you can do anything in creation. When you are loved, there no need at all to understand what’s happening, because everything happens within you”

“Theres no need for iron to be the same as copper, or copper the same as gold, each performs its own exact function as a unique being”
